Limited Warranty

This Limited Warranty applies only to Maxell products purchased by customers for individual use and not for resale (hereinafter referred to as "Maxell products") in the country or region of purchase.

1. General Terms

Warranty Content Coverage

Maxell, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Maxell") guarantees that each Maxell product you purchase is free from quality defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the warranty period as specified on the label, package, and product manuals.

If your Maxell product is found to be detective in materials or workmanship, Maxell will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the product free of charge, or refund the purchase price only during the warranty period (hereinafter referred to as "warranty service").

The warranty period for the product starts on the date of your purchase.

Before warranty service is provided, you must present a warranty that states the date of purchase. If no warranty was attached to the product, you must present a document identifying the date of purchase, such as an invoice issued by the dealer who sold you the product.

This limited warranty does not cover any failure, damage, malfunction, or any other defect of the product caused by any of the following:

  1. use of the product under conditions other than those specified in the product manual;
  2. misuse, alteration, or improper repair of the product;
  3. deterioration and wear under normal use of the product;
  4. earthquake, fire, or other natural disasters, abnormal voltage, or other external causes; or,
  5. falls or impacts during transportation or movement after the product has been purchased.

Repair of the product may result in the loss of data or programs stored in the storage devices of the product. It is the user's responsibility to make a backup copy in advance.

Limitation of Liability

This limited warranty stipulates all guarantees provided to customers, and Maxell, its affiliated companies, and dealers shall not be liable for any express or implied warranty liabilities including product merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

In no event shall Maxell, its affiliated companies, and dealers be liable for any incidental, special, direct, or indirect damages incurred by customers (including, without limitation, any lost profits and opportunities, whether foreseeable or not) arising out of quality defects of the product.

Some countries, states, or jurisdictions do not allow the special exclusion of express or implied liability of warranties and liability for damages.

In that event, such warranties apply to the extent required by the law.

Handling of Replacement Products, etc.

When warranty service involves the replacement of a product or part, the replaced product or part becomes Maxell's property and Maxell may dispose of it at its discretion.

How to Obtain Warranty Service

If a Maxell product does not function as guaranteed during the warranty period, you may obtain warranty service by contacting the authorized Maxell dealers or service providers as set forth in 3. "Service Providers" (i.e. Maxell sales offices or affiliates).
